This session almost didn’t happen. When Sammi & Steven’s wedding narrowly dodged a thunderstorm, I couldn’t have been happier. Unfortunately, this meant that the rain held out just long enough to nearly wash out my family session the next morning! When thunder and lightning woke me up at 5:00, I was skeptical that we could make this happen. No one wants to be muddy, cold, or most of all, unsafe. Angelique and I were up and texting for quite a while as we decided to hold off and delay our session an hour. Since they were leaving the next morning to head back to their home in Michigan, we REALLY wanted to make it happen. They also wanted to snag some photos of this handsome graduating senior, and this was one of the last chances to do it while a classic Arizona pool pic was still an option. (See end of post for said pool pic).
Lucky for us, the rain stopped just in time, and we had some gorgeous cloud cover over the tips of South Mountain. This family was an absolute delight, and I’m so lucky to have clients who trust me 100% to make it work, even when the weather doesn’t want to.
